
Robotics begins competition today with a fully functional robot and great drive team. The matches can be viewed at 9 AM both Friday and Saturday on twitch.tv/firstinspires9. The match schedule for Team 4455, The Burger Bots, will be available on thebluealliance.com in The Greater Kansas City Regional. Good luck to Team 4455!

WHS Juniors competed with another school in an essay contest hosted by West Central Electric Cooperative. Out of 29 student essays that were submitted, 7 of them broke to the final oral competition, and 6 out of 7 of the finalists are from WHS! Here are the results:

The KC Tech Council's Leadership and Empowerment for Girls in Tech (LEGiT) KC program has been meticulously designed to empower and equip female-identifying students entering their Junior and Senior years of high school with comprehensive tech exposure, career pathway guidance, leadership opportunities and invaluable mentorship.

The University of Central Missouri’s Art Department hosted a high school contest and workshop day. Students participated in a screen printing workshop, played art games, went to figure drawing workshops, and completed in still life and observational contests!











High school juniors and seniors are invited to join Burns & McDonnell professionals at our Future U STEM camp June 17th through 20th.


Show Choir Auditions Tuesday, April 9th through Thursday, April 11th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm


This week, students from WHS attended the Missouri State FCCLA Leadership conference with almost 1,600 other state members. Nellena McCauley, Emalie Denton and Grace Gilbert were local delegates to the conference held at Tan-Tar-A Resort was Sunday March 17-Tuesday March 19th. The conference centered around the theme Missouri FCCLA:Out of this World. Students were able to compete in STAR Events and attend many workshops.
During the event, members also raised over $4,000 for LOVEtheLOU during a miracle minute. LOVEtheLOU is the current state outreach project, helping many families in the St. Louis Metro area by providing necessary resources in times of need.
Please congratulate Nellena McCauley for receiving a Silver Award at Missouri State FCCLA STAR Events Competition. She participated in Fashion Construction and created a beautiful piece. Emalie is our Regional Historian and Grace was our voting delegate.





Thank you to the Thomas Hill Energy Center for hosting the Honors Chemistry II class today. Students were able to tour the laboratory and facility to see real life applications of chemistry.

WHS will be hosting it’s March edition of Monthly Majors next week on Wednesday, March 27th during academy. UCM professors from the Digital Media Productions department and the Communication Studies department will be here to talk to students about those college majors. Sign up in the Counseling Office by Tuesday, March 26th at 9 am.


Crochet Club meets this Friday, March 22 during Academy in the Auxiliary Gym.


Please congratulate Megan Skaggs on her watercolor painting that received a second place ribbon at UCM's high school art exposition! The work is on display at UCM's Art Center until 3/22. The artwork is alongside other high school artworks from the surrounding area! Job well done, Megan!


The Vocational Exploration class teamed with Ms. Collins today to explore the field of horticulture. We have several green thumbs in our class.






Drama Club meets today, Monday, March 18th, at 2:45-3:15 pm. We are voting on our theme for the banquet.

On March 14th, FBLA members donated supplies to the Old Drum Animal Shelter for their Community Service Project.
