This past Saturday, 19 of our wonderful WHS students auditioned for the West Central MMEA All-District choir. There are two honor groups that students are able to make, and 13 of the 19 will be representing WHS on October 21st at the District Choir clinic and performance in Oak Grove! Below are the names of the students that made either the Treble Honor Choir or the All-District Honor Choir.
The process of the audition is as follows: Each student must prepare a contest-style solo to sing for a judge. Then, they go to another room in which they have to complete four sight-reading items; key signature identification for both flat and sharp key signatures, melodic sight-singing, and then harmonic sight-singing. Those that make the All-District Choir, then prepare a four-part piece that every District Choir student will audition for the All-State Choir. Out of the 120 students that make the All-District Choir, they will be narrowed down to 16 students (4 sopranos, 4 altos, 4 tenor, and 4 basses) and two alternates per part, that will represent the West Central district in the Missouri All-State Choir.
The following students made either of the District Honor Choirs:

Claire Thomas - Alto
