Welcome to the WHS FCCLA page!

FCCLA is Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.  It is open to any student who has taken or is currently taking one semester FACS course.  FCCLA is a great place for students to become leaders, participate in community service and meet others with similar interests.

What is FCCLA?

FCCLA is a national organization for students in grades 7-12 that are enrolled in or have completed at least one semester of a Family & Consumer Sciences class.  The FACS classes offered at Warrensburg High School include Family & Consumer Sciences, Fashion Fundamentals, Housing & Interiors, Foods & Nutrition I & II, Family & Individual Health, Family Relations, and Child Development I & II.

Missouri FCCLA membership is nearly 13,000 students with 402 Local Chapters.

FCCLA Purposes

1.   To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life.

2.   To strengthen the function of the family as the basic unit of society.

3.   To encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community.

4.   To encourage individual and group involvement in helping achieve global cooperation and harmony.

5.   To promote greater understanding between youth and adults.

6.   To provide opportunities for making decisions and for assuming responsibilities.

7.   To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in today’s society.

8.   To promote family and consumer sciences and related occupations.
